16/06/2009 - Technometra, member of Aero Vodochody group, will deliver Airbus A320 landing gear subassemblies for Messier-Dowty

Technometra Radotín, a member of Aero Vodochody group and traditional producer of landing gears and aerostructures, has signed a contract on deliveries of the main gear subassemblies for the Airbus A320 aircraft with one of the world-largest landing gear producers – Messier-Dowty, member of the SAFRAN Group. Technometra’s mother company Aero Vodochody is the largest aerospace manufacturer in the Czech Republic.

“The contract signed with Messier-Dowty represents a great step forward for our company as well as great reference for our future customers. Technometra has been producing landing gears since the 1930s with more than 10,000 units delivered in top quality, and we are very pleased to start cooperation with one of the world’s leaders in this segment,” said Erik Zajic, CEO of Technometra.

The contract includes deliveries of side stays and actuators and is signed for a period of five years with the option of extension, representing several dozens of million US Dollars. The transfer of production has already started right after the contract signature and first deliveries are planned for the third quarter of 2009.

Technometra has a unique experience in landing gears and the modernization and investment introduced into the company's operations in the last two years demonstrate its long-term commitment and contribution to the world’s aerostructures market,” said Igor Hulak, President of Aero Vodochody, shareholder of Technometra.

In 2008, Technometra year-on-year increased its revenue by 50% and in following two years, this growth rate is planned to increase, among other
factors thanks to the contract with Messier-Dowty, recently signed contracts with American companies Epic and Cirrus, and other new projects.

16/01/2009 New e-mail addresses

Technometra Radotin is changing format of e-mail addresses to name.surname@technometra.cz.
New format will be used from 19/01/2009 – previous addresses will be redirected for a couple of weeks.

10/12/2008 Cirrus SR22(20) oleo – SOP

Technometra has started serial production of oleos for nose landing gear – aircraft SR22(20) produced by Cirrus Design located in Duluth (Minnesota, USA). Solution designed by Technometra will be used for all produced aircraft in planned volume 50 sets/month.

09/12/2008 Rotation on position of CEO

Technometra has announced change in the position of CEO. Present CEO Ladislav Šimek will be replaced since January 1st 2009 by Erik Zajíc who is currently in position of Commercial Director. Ladislav Šimek will stay in position of Chairman of the Board of Directors and will be assigned to position of Vice-President Corporate Strategy and Strategic Programs in Aero Vodochody, mother company of Technometra.

08/12/2008 Landing gears for Epic LT

Technometra has agreed new contract for production of landing gears for LT aircraft produced by Epic AIR based in Bend (Oregon, USA). Initially production will start with 24 sets in 2009, to be increased in following years.

01/09/2008 Sales up by 45,9%

Cumulative sales of January to August period grew by 45,9% compared to 2007. “Not only this, we are very close to sign several important contracts with world-class European or US customers,” mentioned Mr. Erik Zajíc, Commercial Director of Technometra.

25/08/2008 Project Latecoere – Start of Production

Technometra has started regular deliveries under contract for production of parts for Embraer 170 and 190. Assembly of doors and arms is performed by mother company Aero Vodochody.

10/08/2008 NEST CONCEPT introduced

Technometra has developed and implemented brand new nest concept. “It is essential corner-stone of our Lean organization. It combines specific layout, logistics and organization in a way when two people operate four machines having ready at hand necessary jigs, tools and measuring equipment as well as all relevant information, eliminating non-productive activities from operators. Nest reporting is of course part of the concept,” said Mr. Ladislav Šimek, CEO of Technometra. 

15/06/2008 Machining capacity increased

Additional extension of machining capacities Technometra has purchased three new 3-axis drilling and milling centers PINNACLE VMC 950 (950 x 610 x 610 mm).

14/05/2008 New 5-axis machinery

Technometra installed new 5-axis machining centre DECKEL MAHO DMU 80 monoBLOK (980 x 630 x 630 mm). During next two months additional 3 machines of the same kind will be installed.
Delivery of the last machine is planned for mid of July 2008.

18/04/2008 New CMM machine

Technometra made an investment to the new 3D measuring machine LK Evolution 25.10.8 (2516 x 1016 x 813 mm). By this purchase Technometra extended own capability to inspect parts up to 2500 mm. The device is equipped with laser scanning head as well.

03/04/2008 Layout changes

Technometra has finalized changes of the layout of production facilities as an integral part of its Lean manufacturing project. The changes reflect also planned investments to 11 milling machines. New layout shall minimize material flow and support visual management techniques.

04/03/2008 Project Latecoere

In connection with contract between mother company Aero Vodochody and French customer Latecoere Technometra has signed the contract with Aero Vodohody for production of parts for doors and arms of Embraer 170 and 190. Contract will significantly increase Technometra’s production for at least next 5 years.
